A is for Action Plan: Finding your BIG WHY

Taking action is a crucial step towards achieving our goals and realizing our full potential. However, the motivation to take action often stems from a deeper source – our “Big Why.” Our Big Why is our ultimate purpose or reason for doing what we do, driving us to overcome obstacles, stay focused, and persevere in the face of challenges. Discovering our Big Why requires introspection, reflection, and a deep understanding of our values, passions, and aspirations.

So, how do you find your BIG WHY?

It starts with a little bit of soul-searching. Take some time to reflect on what truly lights you up inside, what gets you out of bed in the morning, and what makes your heart sing. Maybe it’s making a difference in the lives of others, pursuing your passion, or leaving a legacy that lasts for generations. Whatever it is, your BIG WHY is deeply personal – it’s what makes you, well, you!

According to Simon Sinek in his book “Start With Why” (2009), having a strong sense of purpose (Big Why) is a key driver of motivation and success. Sinek argues that companies and individuals who can clearly articulate their Big Why are better able to inspire and connect with others.

When we align our actions with our Big Why, we tap into a source of intrinsic motivation that propels us forward with clarity and purpose. Our Big Why serves as a guiding light, helping us stay committed to our goals, even when the path ahead seems uncertain or challenging. By connecting our daily actions to our larger purpose, we infuse meaning and significance into everything we do, leading to a greater sense of fulfillment and satisfaction in our lives.
